On a lighter note, I just wanted to share something with you guys. This morning when I was writing, I happened to look out the window to find something that you don’t normally see in Southern California where I came from. This is when living in the country brings a smile to my face. Now… If we could just teach them the finer art of edging!

I looked out the window

and what did I see?

A hundred and two sheep

winking at me!

It was almost as if

they already knew,

that I had the same plans

as I put  on my shoes…

I said “Hey you guys!”

 “What do ya know?”

“You are eating the grass

I was just gonna mow!”

  1. Very cute piece. So when did you live in So. Cal. ? I’ve lived in California all but two years of my life. BTW, thanks for visiting my site once again. Please stop by often.

    Thanks,
    Jeff
    Redo…

    1. Leah, Thank you for always being such a faithful reader! I just read about your book! Everyone needs to go and buy your book! I am so proud of you! I have to decide whether I want it on Kindle or as a hard copy! 😉
You guys should all go and click on Miss Wordy’s site and click on her book!

  2. That brought a huge smile to my face. My resident kangaroo does his best for me too but there is just too much to contain so I get a young guy in with his Whipper Snipper from time to time 🙂

    1. NOW that would be something if I saw a bunch of kangaroos outside my window! I love it! My husband just went to Oregon a couple weeks ago and spent it with the most wonderful group from Australia. They made a little video of their trip. They look like so much fun! Whoooo knows maybe I will get to go someday if this all works out! Praying!

  3. LOL… how cute! If you teach them how to edge, maybe you better send one this way! 😀 Enjoy your day! I’m off to take mom to the Dr.’s appointments.

    1. Keli, You are too funny! I was talking to my mom about it and was telling her how when the shepherd and dog say to move… they all start running! They mind so well! Hey, maybe that Shepherd could write a book teaching us how to get our kids to move that fast when we tell them to???? Ya think? lol.

      1. LOL… that would be nice!…. but somehow I doubt we could get kids moving faster on their own accord..LOL 😀

    1. I know!!! Huh?!!! I just mentioned to Keli that they are trained well. They start running fast when the Shepherd tells them to get moving. It might be a fun post if I could figure out how to post the video I took of them running to make a funny little point about how the Shepherd “knows” some tricks we might like to know about getting our kids to move that fast! ;D
      A nap? I don’t follow?? lol.

  4. This was too funny…I love it…I needed to start my morning with a little humor. My spiritual message is God works in mysterious ways even when He answers our prayers. Meaning say you contemplated mowing the grass, He had it worked out…..smiling

    Hugs ( Have a God-filled day)

    1. Well, I need to head on over to your blog cuz today I could use a little wisdom! I ended up mowing the front lawn which is actually a lawn…. but wonder how they would do on that? lol!
      :)hugs… have a great day!

    1. I took Thursday off for my Birthday. No plans… but my gift is Brookie is coming up!!!! You know that makes me happy!
Also that baby is due any time now! Another reason why Auntie Brookie is hanging out for a few days in hopes that something happens before she has to go back home. 😉
(Hey by the way~ did I see right? Did Matt get married??!)
Then I work thru Saturday and am off on Sunday! Are you in town? How are you and Chris doing?
I am such a bad friend! I miss you so much!!!
      xoxo

        1. Ann,
No…. he moves them around the Ranch where I live (A gated community near a lake in wine country) Sometimes, he is down by the spa 12 miles away, on a hill overlooking the mineral tubs! It is crazy. They travel around eating brush. I think it is to help minimize fire hazards during the summer I have jogged right past them, brought bottled water out to their shepherd and dog…He speaks Spanish but we communicate easily with my broken Spanish and his English while they are a few feet away. They are great! I’m much more scared of a stupid flying mosquito hawk then standing in the middle of a bunch of cute sheep mowing my side yard! lol.
          xoxo

          1. Sounds lovely. Where are you living in CA? I lived in Napa for a few months, a few years ago. Seeing vineyards all around is more beautiful than being surrounded by buildings 🙂
