In One Blink

Memories of promises

made of tule and lace

lace

lost inside a moment

in one blink it’s been erased

floor crying girl

learning lessons can really hurt

and the pain can seem unending.

couple hugging melancholy woman's face

Smiles and sometimes laughter

stashed behind a heart’s pretending.

letter bundle

Faded letters now just memories

along with promises once made,

ring

by all the ones who’ve let me down…

the ones who should have stayed

bride walking in the waves

It’s hard to face  yesterday

when I stopped believing;

sad couple

the day when I  realized promises

don’t stop those you love from leaving.

woman crying outside the door

That’s fantastic Diane! Very true too! You always find the most wonderful pictures to visual the feelings of your words. Sorry I just haven’t been around much lately though I adore your work… Your words of wisdom and beauty have been missed! <3

      Hey Keli,
I have been a little hit and miss myself!
Thank you for always being my loyal friend and reader! I always love seeing you. WE are those kind of friends that can pick up right where we left off without worrying about how long it’s been in-between… those are the best kind of friends anyway! ;)

Am I talking with the same Diane I was talking to last week? This does not sound anything like that person. Your joy and your conviction sound refreshing and full of promise of a better today.

I’m the same one with the ability to feel grateful for today and the realization that… that’s all I’ve got. Yesterday is passed and tomorrow is not here yet. Though I still need to draw from my memories in order to finish my book. ;)

I agree, but now you sound as if now you can go back to them without the emotional attachment to those memories that used to define you. Recalling them as if you were telling someone, “Yesterday I went to an art show then I met my mom for lunch and we talked about a family vacation we took when I was five.” What a remarkable difference in the two. I’m still awed by how God transformed you. Today is going to be a great day for you, Diane.

          Steve
Thank you for always being one of my biggest cheer leaders! Just got back from a buying trip in LA… been pricing and tagging all day. But just saw this and didn’t want this one to slip by the ones I’ve missed by trying to keep up with email on my phone verses my laptop. This one inspires me! Thank you. I can actually feel your prayers!!

Thank you. I look forward to start working with you on your story again. I hope all is well with you. Hope you’re keeping up. I know you’ve been busy.

The pictures frame your lovely words handsomely. Better to not look back too much or take a change of turning to a pillar of salt. Angst must stop sometime or it’s bitter taste will choke you.

When we start looking back too much our heart loses focus on the path ahead of us.
To revisit old hurts only invites them to return again. Hugs !
