How old do you feel inside? Have you thought of exactly how old you feel today?

Are you the age you really are today, deep down inside?

Once my grandma asked me “How old do you think I feel inside?”

She was about 73 when she asked me that question,

  I said “I don’t know grandma, how old do you feel inside?”

And she said. “Seventeen.” So matter of factly, I never forgot.

I actually have a photo of the time we had this conversation. These pictures are about the age I feel right now.

 I talk a lot about our inner child. Maybe this is stretching it a bit…

But as weird as it may sound, I remember laying on this counter!

I know… freaky… huh? I remember getting baths in that sink too!

I’ve been told I dwell too much on the past… Ya think?

Okay perhaps something a little more recent might be more appropriate…Me and my first grandbaby…To be honest… still not quite recent… but this is as good as it gets for now!

In my lifetime, I have realized that a lesson is worth nothing unless you pass it on. My blog is a lot about learning lessons. Some I am still learning, some I would like to share with others.

I also feel that we all are going through stuff. And sometimes we feel as if we are the only ones. The truth is, we are not alone. There is always someone who will understand. Sometimes in the least expected places!

My goal for this blog is to touch one person at a time… to not try to be at the top of some search engine or  to make a lot of money off of marketing gizmos. To just have the opportunity to share, to reach out and be able to reach back. To understand and not judge.

I have been through divorce and remarriage, deaths and births, empty nests and financial set backs, faith ponders and revelations and a lot of other midlife crisisey stuff in-between and I am here to say that it was all survivable! Join me on my journey…. as I write one word , one page, one chapter, at a time.

I have a little story…. of  my own… a little more about me… that will help you know a part of my journey where I have come from… but I didn’t want to bombard you all at once… though someday, if you have a minute…click here to get to know me a little better….

https://dianereedwiter.wordpress.com/2012/09/23/a-thing-of-beauty-in-an-unexpectd-place/

And thanks for taking your time to get to know me!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another blog i wanted to share is my daughter’s and all her whimsical wonderfulness she has done a 180  from her old blog & changed to: http://www.fernandbone.wordpress.com
in planning her wedding she discovered her love for mismatched china and in collecting it for her own wedding she fell into a little business and named it Fern and Bone!
(UPDATE: August 2017) By the way….  I have recently been asked to write more…. (I used to write a lot more frequently) but when I first started this blog, I really was writing for me… To just get it out because I had to! For those of you who are writers, I know you understand. I didn’t even know how to get other people to read my stuff and back then, when I first started this blog, don’t know if I wanted anybody to read my ramblings. But some how you guys have found me and I am blessed because of it!
sooo… my reason for this update is that,  I have begun to journey back into other writer’s blogs and go through the backdoor into their archives and have found a lot of great posts. I actually have about 400 of my own posts so if I haven’t posted anything recently,  feel free to go into my archives! I love to hear people’s thoughts on my early writings and appreciate the time you take when you go through my back door! Thank you for finding me and taking the time to join me on my journey! I am blessed by everyone of you!
    1. Catherine,
      I am doing catch up today! Thank you sooo much for checking out my blog! I look forward to reading yours more and getting to connect in this cyberly way of ours! It is a gift to get to know and grow friends here! Thank you for your time!!!
  1. You are right, age dosent matter i have seen young people like they are in their 60’s and i have seen poeple like you ( though i dont know you exact age) but still i met many people in their 60 or 70z but they are more energetic and young by heart. Its in your mind and soul and also depends on the people around you. If you have love around then it is much easier to stay energetic.
    1. Sorry that it has taken me soooo long to come back and catch up with my comments but I am here this morning and determined to answer everyone of them! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my ABOUT page and comment! I hope that you come back often! Yes I agree with you! Age is just a number isn’t it?!~
      xoxo
  2. BEAUTIFUL About. What a great idea – yes. My daughter gave my husband (for his 60th b.d. a few years ago) a black and white photo of him reading to her and 5 of her ‘best’ friends when they were 10. And then she etched in silver around the frame, “How Old Would You Be, if You Didn’t Know How Old You Are?”
    I’m 35 today, I was 22 yesterday, some days I’m 75 (those are the tough days) and tomorrow I hope to be 16. xo
    1. I am in love with your writing! I guess cuz you just got me right in the course of a few sentences in your comment! What a great gift!
      I had a customer once who ordered a wooden jewelry box for an 80th surprise birthday that instructed no gifts please. But she’d made a photo tile of the man when he was 20 playing tennis (B & W of course) but it was a huge hit! He could pass it around and show off his young self and ya know… don’t we all want to share those skinny healthy pics! But you don’t count! You are still a baby! LOL. Enjoy it!
      xoxo
      1. By the way, I used the premise of your post here for my last creative writing class (how old do you feel inside, etc.).Great hit – the stories from my writers were phenomenal. Thanks for the inspiration!
  4. Hi, Diane. Thank you for deciding to follow my blog. I love this post about how old we feel. I’ve had that conversation with several friends lately. I feel like I’m the same person I’ve been since I was about 20 and yet there is this old lady who lives in my mirror these days. Looking forward to getting to know you better. Hugs, Natalie 🙂
    A Servant
    P.S. Next week I’ll be introducing a new blog idea and will be asking for input. I sure would like for you to chime in with what you think.
  6. I am so touched by all of my followers and the comments. I just want you guys to know that however you are finding me, if I don’t always respond right away or come and look you up… I will try to get to each one of you!
    As I reach 1200 followers
      I am blessed beyond blessed!
      Thank you for finding my ramblings worthy enough to stop by and follow me!
  7. Your comment about touching one person at a time is wonderful food for thought.
    Philip had “one person” when he led the Ethiopian to a person relationship with Christ. Paul and Silas had an audience of “one” when they led the Philippian jailer to a know Jesus as Lord and Savior. Sometimes we think that we aren’t being effective unless we have a “house full” of listeners to our sermons or teachings.
    An audience of one can be very captive; very ideal circumstances for teaching.
    I knew someone by your name in Gretna, LA in 7th and 8th grade. She was a very intelligent girl, having a great wit about her and similar features of yours.
    But, that was in 1961-62. Please feel to follow my blog http://cchurchchurchblog.wordpress.com/
    Many blessings to you.
      😉
      1. Oh my, how embarrassing. I can’t find it either. It must have got dropped from my cut and paste when I edited it. Oh well, more people will see it here anyway because you have a lot more followers than I do.
        What I wrote was:
        I just found this blog today and I really like it.         I like her attitude and her style. I can add her to my list of blogs that share good news in one way or the other!
  11. Hi Coastalmom… beautiful words crafted by you!!! Its true we all need to learn from each other. Loved this- “a lesson is worth nothing unless you pass it on” 🙂 Following you to know more n learn more!! 🙂
    1. Wow Pratiksha,
      I just read your comment and I am honored. I am constantly learning (hopefully all the time) so you have your pick! 😉
      Thank you for reading! And following! YOU make my words worth it.
  12. A Very nice blog indeed. I would learn so much from your warm emotional writing skills here. The background with Golden Khaki color is also my favourite and appealing one. I try to express myself simple and straight in my views into my writings. Linked here below one of my sample post for you to share something common between us. Just Click it. Have a nice Sunday !
      1. I loved this:
        ******In this way, we forget our last played character and be ready to live for a new-born character. It is life which remembers all our roles and characters played here to keep a constant record by creating and editing our stories. That is how Life lives us.*****
        I don’t think you have anything to learn! Your writing is amazing! But I am sooo honored that you think I have skills! You express yourself wonderfully! YOU have a nice Sunday as well!
        1. Thanks a lot for your kind appreciation. It is my pleasure to know that you have concluded me well and explored the real message here which is quite a worth for me. Here, I tried to express that we are the “Life” living in a particular cycle and pattern. In Totality, One may say, it is almighty god who loves to live us.
          I believe that I have found a nice and sober intelligent friend by virtue of luck. Pay my best wishes and regards to you and your loving ones. Yours,
          PS
