walking in the sand
I step over the line
And then I look back
as the fragrance of the moment lasts

couple on the dock

I hold today loosely
as it slips through the cracks
and I fall into step
with this dance

girl in a field

Like a feather falling
I hear your soul calling
as it brushes my heart
and then lingers

feather

Like hugging sand
when the hour glass breaks

hourglass broken
Just time
running through our fingers….

sand in hands

  1. In trying to clean out mega email, I came across this posting. When I accessed I remembered reading the poem and noticed I had Liked but did not leave a comment. This is really a wonderful poem, Diane, with a very clear message. The pictures you chose are absolutely the perfect enhancement!

  2. I love the image of sand running through our hands. It reminds me to take a moment to pause for all the blessings in my life. Time is like a thief otherwise. Beautiful poem, Diane!

  3. Diane, you know how to use your hear, soul and the world … this is so beautiful and your images are so beautiful too. I’m not a poem girl, but I love the beauty you bring.
